Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

I didn't travel too far this week. I've been exploring different neighborhoods in Seoul, but I haven't left the city proper.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

My first weekend in Seoul, I took the bullet train two and a half hours away to a city called Namwon. Even though it is technically the city, it feels more like the countryside. There are sprawling mountains all around and the area is known for their natural hot springs!

How did I get around this week?:

Most of the time, I get around by bus or train. The bus system in Seoul is one of the most extensive that I've seen. I've also noticed that buses here are very reliable and always show up on time. The train system is also convenient, but the closest station to me is about 20 minutes away so I don't use it as often.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

The most interesting place that I visited this week is Gyeongbokgung Palace. It is a large royal palace from the Joseon era that was built in 1395! The royal family used to live and govern from this palace. Now, it is one of the top tourist attractions in Korea, and it is usually packed with tourists.
