Gentle Giants

So they use their very large environment to walk many miles, constantly eating along the way! They also use their trunks to spray dirt or mud on their backs to protect their skin from the sun and bugs. They love wading in rivers on hot, sunny days to cool down.

What can harm this creature or plant? Are we worried about it?:

Sadly, humans can harm elephants and we are very worried about them. Many tourists don't know much about elephants and go to tourist camps that allow people to ride on the elephant's backs. It's extremely harmful to the elephants' backs and it also keeps them from being able to eat as much food as they need every day. Elephants that live in logging or riding camps can sometimes live 40 years less than an elephant in the wild. We also need to stop cutting down forests, or soon, the elephants won't have a home.
