Meet Huk!

Introduction:

I interviewed my friend Huk (we pronounce it like "hug") so that you can hear what life is like in Laos from someone other than me - someone who was born in Laos! His English is fantastic and he was so excited to tell you all about his life. Read his answers below.

What is your full name?:

My full name is Khamhuk Southep.

Where do you live? What is your house like?:

I live in Ban Done Kao (a neighborhood in Luang Prabang) with my aunt, but my family lives in Nong Het (in XiengKhouang Province). My house is just like most Lao houses: there are two floors and it's mostly made of wood.

What is your family like?:

My family is lovable, kind and cheerful. There are five people in my family: my two younger sisters, my mom, my dad and me. My father's name is Southep, he is a policeman and he is 45 years old. My mother's name is Sengphet, she is a vendor and she is 42 years old. My two younger sisters' names are Or and Orm and they are both still in high school.

How do you get around?:

I have my motorcycle to take me to places like school and work.

What types of clothing do you like to wear?:

I like jeans and most of my clothes are black, dark red and white.
