What main languages are spoken here?:

The main language in Malaysia is Bahasa Melayu, or Malay for short. In the city, many people speak English. Students learn English as a second language in school. You will also hear Mandarin Chinese and Tamil, which is spoken in India and Sri Lanka.

What type of money is used here?:

Malaysia uses the Ringgit as currency. The word 'ringgit' is singular and plural. For example, you would say "one ringgit and 100 ringgit." One American dollar is equal to four Malaysian ringgit.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

A bottle of water might cost one or two ringgit. 

What was the best meal this week?:

I ate with my hands this week! There is a south Indian rice dish called Banana Leaf Rice and it is served on a big banana leaf. It includes rice, sauce, vegetables and sometimes meat. Traditionally, you eat all of this with your hands! Can you believe it? It was little messy but it was delicious! 

What music did I listen to this week?:

In Kuala Lumpur, there are many singers and musicians who perform outside in the evening. This week I heard American songs performed in English and Bahasa Melayu (Malay), including Shakira, Adele and Ed Sheeran. 

Yesterday, my students were also listening to Kpop songs and Arianna Grande! Do you know what Kpop is?
