All Aboard!

Introduction:

Vienna is a really big place. It is made up of 23 areas called districts. I live in district 15. The name of this district is Fünfhaus. My university is in the third district called Leopoldstadt. Every day I go from my house in district 15 to my school in district three. The way I get there is with public transportation.

How do people get around?:

I have many options for public transportation. Sometimes I ride my bike in the bike lanes next to the road. The city has bike lanes to keep bike riders safe. I could also walk on the sidewalks. I only walk when I'm going somewhere very close. I could also ride on the bus. Riding the bus is like a school bus, except I can get on or off at many stops all over the city. Another way I could travel is with the tram. The tram is like a small train on the road. The tram moves on two metal rails that are inside the road. The final option is the subway, called the U-Bahn. The U stands for underground. Bahn means train. So the U-Bahn is an underground train. It moves on railroad tracks and goes very fast. All of these options are very popular. I will tell you more about the U-Bahn.

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

I love travelling on the U-Bahn. There are many stations all over the city.
