Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice!

Introduction:

India is a vegetarian's paradise! It is very hard to find places that sell dishes with meat. Being a vegetarian, this has made it very easy for me to find food I can eat. I rarely have to worry about any food being cooked with meat or having meat in it, because that isn't something normally people do here.

Along with the food being vegetarian, it is also delicious! There are so many different spices that are cooked with almost anything. Nothing is left bland or flavorless, not even fruits and vegetables.

What food did I try?:

I have tried many dishes so far in India, but my favorite thus far is mint chutney! It is not technically a dish, and you can put it on anything. Typically, it is used as a dip for roti (a flat and round bread), vegetables and fritters. It is green and very refreshing! It kind of tastes like salsa verde, but it is also thicker and different.

I have also tried many different types of curry and rice dishes. Curry is a type of stew that you usually eat with rice or with roti. It is cooked with many vegetables, potatoes and spices. There is rarely meat cooked into curry, because the majority of the population is vegetarian. But still, each one I've tried has been distinctly different.
