The weather this week was a little different than last week. A typhoon just passed fairly close to Taiwan, which gave us a lot of rain and wind, but now the weather has cleared and it was mostly sunny and hot all week. Even if it did rain, it was only for a short time.
On my run every morning, I see tons of different kinds of bugs and small animals. There are always a few snails crossing the road, along with butterflies, spiders and squirrels. I've heard that there are many monkeys in the mountains of Taiwan, but I haven't seen one yet!
Some might think this is cool, and some might think it's scary, but I saw a giant black snake during a walking tour of Guan Shan this past week. It came out onto the path in front of our group and we had to pass with extreme caution. Some snakes in Taiwan can be very poisonous.
