My Daily Life in Mauritania!

Like most countries, Mauritania uses the metric system. That bottle costs about $1.25.

What was the best meal this week?:

Since I don't like to cook, it's great to go out. I had brunch this week with a friend. We had a dish she made that is like a quiche. She made it with bread, meat, cheese and eggs. I do not know if it has a name or is her own recipe, but it sure was delicious!

What music did I listen to this week?:

Most of the music I listen to is on YouTube. When I am in a car, some people play the radio where there is traditional Mauritanian music. There are also some people who like modern African rap and hip-hop. I don't have any music. What is on YouTube is unfamiliar to me.

What did I read this week?:

I'm always reading several books at the same time. One is The Universe Has Your Back by Gabrielle Bernstein. My reading time is in the morning and before I go to sleep.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

My favorite games are online. There are crossword puzzles and other puzzles, some with words, pictures or competitions against the computer.

How did I get around this week?:

While I like to walk, I do very little of it in Mauritania. The dust is a major issue. It is often windy and that kicks up fine sand. It causes coughing. I often wear a mask, like the ones people used for COVID-19. Many people here wear turbans.

How was the weather this week?:
