Hello! Today, I want to share a special tradition and symbol I learned about in Thailand. In Thailand, the elephant is a very important symbol. You can see elephants on clothes, souvenirs, and in temples. Many people love and respect elephants.
When we visited a temple, a monk shared a story with us. He told us that a long time ago, an elephant was given alcohol and sent to hurt Buddha. But the elephant did not hurt him. Instead, the elephant stayed calm and gentle. Because of this story, the elephant is seen as a symbol of kindness, peace, and respect. People believe the elephant shows strength while having a gentle heart.
We also visited an elephant sanctuary. We walked in front of the elephants and fed them. Even though elephants are very big, they are calm and kind animals. I felt happy and peaceful being around them. The way Thai culture respects elephants is connected to the environment and daily life in Thailand. Elephants have lived in Thailand for a very long time. They are part of the land, the history, and the culture.
I am happy to share these pictures of the elephants with you.
