Our News

What activity was the most fun this week?:

In my role as Offshore Manager, I get the privilege to interact and take part in all the different jobs that happen on the boat. I also get to know all of the people who do those jobs. I love being able to help people stay focused and keep morale high on the boat.

What did I read this week?:

I read a lot at sea, but it's rarely books. I get many long emails and reports I have to read through, so I don't have a lot of time leftover for books.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

We play a lot of ping pong (also known as table tennis) on this boat. I try to play after lunch to help burn off all the good food I just ate!

Other news from this week:

The name of the boat I work on is called Island Pride, and it's pretty large! We have a kitchen (which is called a "galley" on a boat), a dining room (the "mess room"), and there are bedrooms called "cabins" that have toilets and showers that we use to get ready. There are lot of cool things on our boat that makes it feel like home!

We also have washers and dryers on-board, which helps a lot because six weeks-worth of clothes would take up a lot of room in my luggage! Sometimes I bring my own snacks like Spicy Nacho Doritos or Payday candy bars. Have you tried these before? They are tasty! I also bring fun things like Rubik's cubes, playing cards and my tablet to give me a little entertainment while I am off-shift and relaxing.
