Welcome to the first-ever Reach the World Travel Club journey!
My name is Chris, and I will be your Reach the World Host as we embark on a two-week-long virtual exchange journey to France, Luxembourg and Germany together. Before I tell you more about myself and some of the other members of our group, I want to tell you more about where we will be going! Hopefully, after you learn about our itinerary, you can do some of your own research and help us decide where to go and what to do!
On May 20th, we will leave places, like Chicago, New York and even Italy, to meet at the Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Île Hotel in Strasbourg, France. Can you find Strasbourg on a map? (Hint: It's right on the border between France and Germany in Europe.) We will spend our first few days exploring Strasbourg and the Alsace region before heading a couple of hours north to the country of Luxembourg, where we will meet a riverboat called the Amadeus Brilliant. This ship is about 360 feet long and 40 feet wide with four decks (the floors of a ship, similar to a building). It has enough space for about 200 people, and I've heard there's even a piano onboard! I can't wait to explore the ship.
