Popping Poplars in Bulgaria

How does it use its environment to survive?:

White poplars use the environment to spread their seed pods to new areas to form new trees. When the wind blows, the seeds will fall from the trees and are carried to new soil. From there, they can take root and begin to create more trees. Other animals, such as squirrels or birds, can help spread the seed pods too!

What can harm this creature or plant? Are we worried about it?:

The white poplar trees are not easily harmed. The one area that they are the weakest is in the bark. The bark of the white poplar trees might be pretty, but it is very weak wood. The trees often will lose branches due to the age of the tree or if it has too much snow on it. This can make the trees appear uneven because they are missing branches, but it does not cause real harm to the tree.

The white poplar is not a tree to worry about because they are considered an invasive species. Invasive species can grow and create new trees very fast. The seeds from white poplar trees can spread from the seed pods, fallen branches or even from the roots! There are many of them throughout Bulgaria, and they do not have many threats.
