It's one of the most famous luxury shopping streets in the world, and big fashion brands spend a lot of time and money on their store windows. We studied how they use lighting, color, mannequins and props to tell a story and get people to stop and look.
I didn't read much this week, but I watched a lot of movies! I'm taking an Italian cinema class, and this week we watched Bicycle Thieves (1948) and A Fistful of Dollars (1964), then analyzed both. Bicycle Thieves follows a father and son in Rome after World War II as they search for their stolen bike, which the father needs for his job. A Fistful of Dollars is a "spaghetti western," a cowboy movie made by Italian filmmakers. It was fun to compare such different styles from the same country.
I don't really play sports, but I went to watch a basketball game at my dorm, Collegio di Milano. The players were a mix of IES students from my program. I also played poker!
I got my midterm grades back for all my classes, and they went well! My highest grade was in Strategic Management, and my lowest was in Italian. Our Italian exams have a mix of oral and written parts!
