I think the most fun activity was either exploring the city with two of my friends, Tanila and Polly, or going to KTV with them. Tanila and Polly are students at Wuhan University of Technology and they know the city pretty well. We went together to a large shopping area called Optical Valley.
Besides menus and street signs, I read "A Thousand Nights" by E.K. Johnston. It’s a captivating story, set in the desert, in which one girl sacrifices herself to save her sister and finds strength in the women around her along her journey. I just bought a Chinese children’s book, which I plan to read next week!
I try to work out every day. This week I worked with a trainer at the gym to learn some boxing moves. I also joined a hip-hop class that I go to twice a week! Outside of those two routine-like activities, I also biked around the East Lake with some friends.
Monday, September 24 was the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Mooncake Festival. On this day, families come together and eat mooncakes while admiring the full moon’s beauty.
