Climate change where temperature and rainfall patterns shift can reduce the different species and cause smaller body sizes. Their natural predators, including birds and toads, can become a significant threat.
Life on the planet is about balance, and dung beetles play an important role with helping break down the dung, soil aeriation (adding air to the soil through digging), and soil enrichment, by adding nutrients to the soil from burying the dung. I hope to keep seeing them rolling along!
