A weekend trip to Mother Farm and Mt. Nokogiri

Location:
Kanaya, Futtsu, Chiba Prefecture
Journal Entry:

My grandfather was a farmer back in the Dominican Republic. Whenever I visited him, I loved seeing all of the animals around his house. This weekend, I visited Mother Farm on the way to climbing Mount Nokogiri. At the farm, I felt like a kid again!

Mother Farm is divided into two sections: The flowers and fruit-bearing trees on one side, and the animals on the other. As soon as we stepped onto the farm, I heard the animals calling me over, so that's where I went!

There were pigs, cows, ducks, goats and even rabbits and horses in this farm. I also got to meet an animal that I had never seen before called a capybara. The capybara is a rodent native to South Americ. It is the largest rodent in the world! It looks like the "cousin" of a mouse - except that the capybara is as big as your little brother or sister! We learned that capybaras eat grasses and fruit. They're great swimmers, too!

After meeting a cool capybara who I named Felipe, we went on to Mount Nokogiri. We climbed all the way to the top. The view of the Tokyo Bay there was breathtaking!

I got some great pictures with my new favorite animal and on top of the mountain as well! Don't you agree?
