Before moving to Italy, I knew there would be some differences between life here and life in America, but I definitely wasn't expecting some of these! After living in Florence for almost two months, I've noticed so many little things that are completely normal here but seem so strange to me.
1. Grocery shopping is completely different
Instead of doing one big shopping trip for the week, I've gotten used to going to the grocery store almost every day, sometimes even three times a day! A lot of people here buy fresh ingredients for whatever meal they're about to make. Groceries are also much cheaper than what I'm used to in America. However, I've noticed that a lot of the fresh food I buy doesn't last nearly as long. Some fruits and vegetables seem to go bad within just a day or two, so I have to be careful about how much I buy.
2. The fruit is huge!
This might sound like a strange thing to notice, but I swear some of the fruit here is twice the size of what I'm used to seeing in America. Every time I go grocery shopping, I'm surprised by how big some of the peaches, grapes and other fruits are!
3. The rumors about ice and water are true
