It’s been fun to share a bit of my experience with you and to see your interest in learning about the world.
As I say goodbye—not just to Timor-Leste, but also to you—I want to leave you with this:
Keep exploring.
Keep asking questions.
Keep learning about people and places that are different from your own.
You don’t have to travel far to be an explorer. You can explore through books, conversations and trying new things. But one day, I hope many of you do get the chance to travel, to see new places, to meet new people and to experience the world in your own way.
And who knows ... maybe one day one of you will visit Timor-Leste! If you do, I hope you’ll remember the stories we shared about bamboo, community and the connections that bring people together.
