I found it interesting to compare the climate near Santa Marta with my home in Plato. Santa Marta is much more jungle-like than Plato, with taller trees, bamboo and overall more greenery. From the ocean, you can see tall hills. Plato is much flatter, with swamps surrounding the town that branch off from the river. It’s also more hot and humid in Plato, with less breeze and rain. Both places are beautiful, however, and they demonstrate the diverse topology of Colombia.
