Pink Praline of Lyon

Introduction:

Lyon is called the “Food Capital of France," and after spending some time here, I understand how the city gets this name…there’s so much good food everywhere you go! Lyon has a lot of specialties, which are foods that are popular in the city. Many of these foods are savory and include different kinds of meat. For example, there is rosette de Lyon (French salami) and pâté en croûte (a mixture of meats baked in dough). Specialties like these are usually served in traditional Lyon restaurants called bouchons. In addition to these savory foods, Lyon has a very famous sweet that I want to share with you. Praline rose (pink praline), is a bright pink, crunchy treat that can be found in bakeries and shops all around the city.

What food did I try?:

The first traditional food I tried here in Lyon was the pink praline. This sweet treat is one of the most famous foods in the whole city. As I’ve been exploring around Lyon, I keep spotting the bright pink praline candies everywhere!

How did I feel when I tried it?:

After seeing the pink praline treats all around the city, I was curious about what they tasted like and was very excited to try them! To make the moment extra special, I went to one of the most popular food places in Lyon, Les Halles de Paul Bocuse.
