El Diario Final - The Final Journal

where we have an independent, competitive and busy lifestyle, I rarely found the time to rest and recharge throughout my weeks. But, here, where they have a siesta (a midday rest time where shops close and people leave work for a few hours) every day, and everything is closed on Sundays, it's built into the culture to spend time resting with family and recharging.
  • Don't let one bad thing ruin your day. Moving abroad and trying to find your way in a new culture, country, language, etc. can bring its frustrations and differences. However, these things happen, they're normal and they're all part of the journey, for most all of us living abroad. But, you can't let one frustration ruin your whole day. There are so many good things happening within the day as well, that's what I focus on.
  • Growth happens outside of your comfort zone. I already came here with this mindset. It's one of the reasons that motivated me to apply to live abroad for eight and a half months in the first place. However, my time in Argentina thus far has only continued to show me that this is true. I've learned a tremendous amount by stepping outside my comfort zone of language, living nearby my family and friends and my job, hobbies and passions back home. I know that I am fortunate enough to return to all of this in the U.S. in a few months as a changed person for the better.

I hope that you have enjoyed your time learning about my journey and once again, I can't thank you enough for following it!

    Un abrazo (a hug)
