Spring Snowshoeing in Northern Norway

Photos

This is the driving path we took, completing the journey back to Tromsø with bridges and two ferries
This was my friend's first time in Norway, so we made sure to stop at scenic rest stops along the way
Here, my friends and I explored a history museum in the mountains
At the trailhead, we were excited at the prospect of snowshoeing to the Gorsa Bridge, or GorsaBrua
The museum essentially comprised ruins of a northern Norwegian town where extracting and smelting ore was the main source of income
We learned that 3.6 km is a long way on snowshoes, so we did not make it to the bridge!
I learned what it was like in the old days to live and work in a community dominated by ore extraction
For many in the group, this was our first time ever wearing snowshoes, or 'truger' in Norwegian
