Getting Around Town: My Favorite Ways to Explore Mérida

Photos

Here's a pic of my friend's (Daniel) sweet, yellow ride. Daniel says, "Personalmente, prefiero andar en bicicleta por el pueblo." [Personally, I like riding my bike around town.]
Inside the Cumbi! As you can see, although the name may sound unfamiliar, Cumbis are simply shuttle buses that serve as another public mode of transportation. Their quick and easy to grab!
A Cumbi riding through Mérida!
When I am waiting for the bus, I do a quick (and safe) look down the street so I can flag it down! This is right outside of my little apartamento (apartment) in the center of Mérida.
When walking in nearly any major city in Mexico, you are sure to find one of these big, bold signs that proudly state the city. This is when I was in Mexico City!
Talk about cool transportation! This vintage car decorated with beautiful and traditional-style Mexican art is located in the Museo de Arte Popular (Popular Art Museum).
Just another lively baile (dance) in the center of Mérida...I got to watch one on my night walk with some neighbors! Que suerte (what luck)!
A glimpse a life in the rural pueblos (towns)! Here, transportation can always wait when always when a live Mariachi band playing in the street!
