La Vida de Lola

For breakfast, Lola usually eats cereal, toast with Spanish ham (jamón), or yogurt. Lunch is her biggest meal of the day and changes a lot. On the day of our interview, she ate spaghetti with chicken and grapes for dessert.

Dinner is usually lighter and often includes fish, an omelette, or soup. Sometimes she has yogurt with tea or a glass of milk for dessert. Her favorite snack at recess (from 12:00–12:30) is grapes or chorizo with seed sticks.

What is your house like?:

La casa de Lola es colorida y está llena de vida. Tiene muchas ventanas, plantas y también una tortuga que se llama Esmeralda. Hay muchos libros y muebles de madera. Desde su casa puede ver las montañas, incluso una que se llama “el León Durmiente”.

Lola’s house is very colorful and full of life. It has lots of windows, plants, and even a pet tortoise named Esmeralda. There are many books and wooden furniture throughout the house. From her home, she can see the mountains, including one called “the Sleeping Lion.”

What chores do you have at home?:

En casa, ayuda poniendo y recogiendo la mesa, cargando el lavavajillas, haciendo su cama y preparando su ropa.

At home, she helps by setting and clearing the table, loading the dishwasher, making her bed, and preparing her clothes.

What jobs do your parents have?:

Su madre es profesora de inglés y su padre es profesor de electricidad.

Her mom is an English teacher, and her dad teaches electrical subjects.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

El colegio empieza a las 9:00 de la mañana y termina a las 2:30 de la tarde.
