The trees aren't turning colors yet. They're still green! Sure, there are some colors, especially in parks that are losing their leaves, but a lot more trees here are still green than I am used to back home. I think they're used to Russia and its winters, just like the people that live here.
I visited the Moscow River, and it was quite dirty. It wasn't quite as dirty as the Chicago River (the one they turn green every St. Patrick's Day), but I still would not swim in it. I think that's the same for almost all big cities, though the Moscow River is bigger and thus needs bigger bridges and cannals than I'm used to. I'm excited to see the Volga, which is one of the largest rivers in the world!
