Day in the Life

It was about a thirty-five minute cab ride. The beautiful and historic mansion was owned by Victoria Ocampo, a famous Argentine writer. The venue had loads of books and even a cafe for tea and pastries. After the tour I returned home and took a nap... By this time, it was around 4:30 p.m.

Continuing on my Monday journey, by late afternoon a friend and I decided to explore el Centro Cultural Recoleta (The Cultural Center of Recoleta). It is a beautiful place where people can study, eat, hang out and look at art. The best part is that it is 100% free! After we hung out for around an hour, we parted ways and I ventured to a Mexican restaurant because I was craving some tacos! I took the subte (subway) there to have a local commute experience.

After this very intense day, I arrived back home. I played with my host mom’s dog, Sammy, and the turtle she is watching, Sofia. I then took a siesta (break in the day) and relaxed in my room, occasionally listening to music or doing homework until dinner at 10:15 p.m.

For dinner, my host mom, my roommate, and I ate pasta with fish, red peppers, and onions. It was so delicious that I forgot to snap a picture because I ate it too fast! Dinner is a good opportunity to practice my Spanish because our rule is to speak only Spanish at home. After dinner, I brushed my teeth and prepared for bed around 11:45 p.m..

I hope you all enjoyed this week journal entry and I hope you are having a lovely week.

Abrazos (Hugs),

Olivia
