Food in Cambridge

Introduction:

When I think about food in Cambridge, I do not really think of one special “Cambridge food.” Instead, I think about the memories I have made around food while living here. A cup of coffee can remind me of walking past the old university buildings, and a dinner can turn into a game night with my flatmates. I also tried a croffle for the first time here, and it quickly became one of my favorite desserts. Being abroad has shown me that learning about a new place is not always just about visiting famous landmarks. Sometimes, it is also about the small things you eat, the places you keep going back to, and the people you share them with.

What food did I try?:

I tried pasta and meatballs from Macarruna, Thai food from Baan Thai, coffee from Costa Coffee and Fitzbillies, and croffles from Heavenly Desserts. These are some of the restaurants that I keep coming back to try!

How did I feel when I tried it?:

I was excited to try new places, especially when I went with friends, my partner, or even on my own. My favorite was the croffle because it was warm, sweet, crispy, and covered with toppings.

How is the food prepared?:

The pasta is cooked and mixed with different sauces and toppings. Thai food uses ingredients like noodles, vegetables, meat, broth, and spices.
