My time in Sweden has enabled me to experience everyday life from a different perspective. Back home, I attend school in Washington, D.C., where I regularly use the metro, so I was interested in seeing how Stockholm's metro compares. Although both cities have metro systems, I noticed some interesting differences while traveling around Stockholm.
In Sweden, people get around in many different ways. They can ride buses, drive cars, ride bikes or take a ferry. A ferry is a large boat that carries people from one island or place to another. One of the most common ways to travel in Stockholm is by metro, which is a type of public transportation. The metro is a type of train that travels both above and below the ground. To ride it, people can buy a ticket using an app on their phones called S.L. Stockholm has several different metro lines that take people to different parts of the city.
I thought riding the metro was really interesting because we do not have a metro at all in West Virginia. There are metros in places like New York and Washington, D.C., but the Stockholm metro was different than what I expected. The metro trains here can be very long, and all of the cars are connected.
