Dumelang, bana! Hello, children!
I can’t believe our letter exchange is coming to an end. The weeks flew by so fast while I was writing to you!
I still have eight more months here in Botswana before I go back home to Delaware. Sometimes I can’t believe I haven’t been home since July 2024. Joining the Peace Corps is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but it has helped me grow and learn so much.
I have had so much fun teaching you about Botswana, its amazing animals and its special culture. I hope you enjoyed learning about it too!
Because I joined the Peace Corps, I have been able to visit places I never thought I would see. I’ve traveled to the Okavango Delta, Victoria Falls, and Cape Town—some of the most magical places on Earth. When you grow up, if you still love adventure, you might like joining the Peace Corps too. You can live, work, and learn with people all around the world, promoting peace and friendship.
While we’ve been learning about Botswana, I also want to tell you about my trip to Cape Town, one of my favorite places ever! Cape Town is at the very bottom of Africa, where two big oceans, the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian Ocean, meet.
