Hi everyone! I’m Carsten, and I’m really excited to start this journey with you.
I work at Ocean Infinity, a company full of people who explore the ocean in ways that sometimes feel a little bit like magic. My job is a bit unusual: I help bring together all the talented people who make our missions possible — engineers, robotics experts, data specialists, vessel crews, mission planners, and many more. I sometimes think of it like being the conductor of an orchestra. Each person plays a different ‘instrument’, but together, we create something incredible.
So, before we head off on our adventure, I want to tell you a little about how I ended up doing this work, and what you can expect from the weeks ahead.
How did I find my way to the ocean?
I didn’t start out thinking I would work with underwater robots or huge maps of the seafloor. When I was young, I was mostly curious about how things worked, how people solved hard problems, and about the parts of the world we can’t easily see. And there is almost nowhere more mysterious than the ocean.
