Have you ever wondered what it might be like to live in a different country as a kid? Read about Alyssa, an almost 10-year-old, on how she studies, eats and spends her time in her home country.
When it comes to breakfast, Alyssa enjoys eating a typical Slovak food of bread or a roll. This roll will be filled with butter, ham and cheese. Lunch is a bigger meal, so she eats chicken broth soup, chicken and a side of rice or mashed potatoes. For dinner, she likes to eat an omelet or pasta.
Houses are built a little differently here in Slovakia, but they do have similar rooms. Alyssa's house is a bungalow style. This means that it is a one-story home with a front porch and a sloped roof. There are no stairs, no basement and no garage. She says there are four bedrooms, a kitchen and a living room. Her favorite room is her bedroom. What is your favorite room in your home?
No matter where you are, it seems that kids must do chores to help around the house. Alyssa says that she must make her bed, tidy up her room, empty the dishwasher and help her mom hang up clothes to dry.
