Conversation with Adéla

Introduction:

This week, I was able to sit down and talk with Adéla, a 13 year old in the 7th grade at a local elementary school. In the Czech Republic, the grades are grouped differently so Adéla is in her second "stage" of elementary school.

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

For breakfast, I like to eat something quick, like a rohlik (roll) and butter. I eat school lunch, something like soup and knedliky (dumplings), it changes every day. My favorite dinner is when we make pasta.

What is your house like?:

I live in an apartment with my family. It is big but I share a room with my younger sister.

What chores do you have at home?:

Every day, I have to walk my dog. Her name is Brouček, that means something like little bug.

What jobs do your parents have?:

My mother is a teacher, and my father works in an office (he works with finances).

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

School starts at 8:30 AM and ends at 3:25 PM.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

Yes, I walk to school most days... not alone, with my friend. Sometimes, if it is cold or something, I may take the bus, but I like to walk best.
