Monarch Butterflies!

Introduction:

Nature is all around us and, sometimes, we don’t even acknowledge it! Nature can be the houseplants my mom keeps in the living room, or the ants that come inside the house (although we may not like it). Nature exists all around us--in our neighborhoods and in the wild!

In Mexico, nature is a bit different compared to what I am used to in California. In California, we have more creatures and plants that can resist warmer temperatures and drier climates, such as cactuses. Here in Atlacomulco, Mexico, there are lots of trees and green hills because it was just the rainy season. It can be foresty here, especially as you get to higher altitudes, and there are lots of tall hills.

In terms of animals, I tend to see lots of insects, such as grasshoppers and butterflies, as well as domesticated animals, including dogs and farm animals. Recently, I have been seeing many butterflies, which has been quite lovely. I have seen white and yellow varieties, and quite a few monarch butterflies! I really enjoy seeing the butterflies, so I have decided to share more about them with you in this article.

What does this creature or plant look like?:

The monarch butterfly is a bright orange butterfly with black outlines on its wings.
