While I am not a teacher in Vietnam, many of my friends are! So I've been chatting with them to gain some insight into the education system in Vietnam. Many of my friends work at international schools and moved here as part of their job, other friends work teaching English at local schools. As I've been talking with my friends, I've been able to learn so much about education in Vietnam and I know you have been curious about what school is like, so here is some of what I've learned!

First, education is very important in Vietnam, and teachers here are very highly respected. There is even a special "Teachers Day" where everyone purchases flowers and small gifts for their teachers.

There are two main types of schools in Vietnam: public and international. Public schools are similar to the United States where it is free for students to attend, however, sometimes there are additional fees parents have to pay. International schools are private and tend to be very expensive, they are usually taught in English and Vietnamese, however, there are also many French international schools where lessons are conducted in French.
