I am currently in Sydney, Australia which is almost 10,000 miles away from you in Lyons, New York, USA. This means I flew on an airplane for almost 30 hours, which is more than 1 day! Do you know how many hours there are in a day? Could you imagine being on a plane for more than one full day? In Australia, I am an exchange student and a researcher. I am studying medicine and researching cancer because I hope to be a doctor one day.

You may be wondering how I ended up so far away from home? I attend the University of Rochester, which is close to where I grew up. I grew up in Williamson, New York (which is very close to Lyons). I decided I wanted to be adventurous and go as far away from home as possible, so Australia was a great choice. Another great thing about Australia is that it is warm year round. Since it is like summer here all the time, there is no snow. I think that is pretty awesome since I do not like the cold. Besides the wonderful weather, there are a lot of beautiful beaches and cool animals like koalas and kangaroos. In other words, Australia was the perfect choice.

My weekdays are spent both in class and in the lab, while my weekends are used for exploring.
