Courseulles-sur-Mer and Juno Beach

Photos

Courseulles-sur-Mer is a little seaside town with cute summer houses like these
Check out this fruit market!
At this small pier that reached out into the water, the smell of the cool sea breeze was everywhere
The town had a lot of monuments dedicated to the liberation of France in World War II, such as the cross behind me
"June 6, 1944: The allied forces liberated Europe. Here, at Courseulles, on June 14, 1944, Charles de Gaulle the liberator regained the territory of France."
This tank was recovered from the sea and put up as a monument to recognize the Canadians who fought in the war
It's a bit strange to see a red telephone box here, because phone boxes like these are typically British!
Seagulls are everywhere at Courseulles
