Ahoj (Hello) from the Czech Republic! Thein the Czech language is different than the jin English. In Czech, the j makes a makes a ysound, so ahoj sounds like "ahoy." It reminds me of a greeting you might hear on a sailboat.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Niecea Freeman. I'm 26 years old. I was born in a very small town in California and grew up on a ranch, surrounded by farm animals and forests. Today, I am teaching in a high school in the Czech Republic. How did I end up 5,700 miles away from my home in California in this little country right in the center of Europe?

My adventure actually begins after college. I went to school to become a teacher. I am the first person in my family to go to college. I have always loved learning. I knew that when I was done with school, I wanted to keep learning. I also wanted to share what I learned with others.

Instead of working in the United States like I planned, I actually got my first teaching job in Thailand. Thailand is a warm, tropical country in Southeast Asia. It has rainforests, white sandy beaches and a lot of delicious tropical fruit to eat like mango, dragon fruit, pineapple and durian. This is where I caught what some people call the "travel bug" and learned that I love to travel.
