Experimenting with New Tastes: Delicious!

It is mostly plantains and yuca, but it can be mixed with chicharrón (fried pork belly or fried pork rinds), seafood or cheese. I do not know why it has not sounded good to me before yesterday, but I am glad that I finally tried it. It was so good! 

How did I feel when I tried it?:

When I finally tried mofongo, I felt so good especially because I was really hungry. It is so filling so I would only want to eat it when I am really hungry. It can be eaten at any time of the day. 

How is the food prepared?:

The plantains and yuca are mashed together with salt, garlic and oil. Then, it is put together with chicharrón, seafood, cheese or whatever you want to put with it, all formed in the shape of a ball. 

Is this food connected to the local environment? How?:

Plantains, yuca and chicharrón are a few of the most favorite foods here in the Dominican Republic so why not put them all together to enjoy as a delicious meal?
