Hello from Vietnam!
My name is Megan and I live and teach in Lang Son, Vietnam. Lang Son is in the northern part of the country. I live very close to the Chinese border. It would only take me a half hour car ride to get to China.
When you think about Vietnam, you might imagine that it is hot all year round. That is true for some places in Vietnam. However, in Lang Son, it is cold in the winter and sometimes it even snows on the mountain tops! I enjoy the colder weather because my hometown is Coon Rapids, Minnesota where the winters can get pretty cold!
Last year, I graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, Minnesota, having studied history, English and Japanese. In college, I learned a lot about the world, and I was able to study in Japan and London for one month. I have made many friends in both places.
Even though I am young, I teach English at Lang Son College of Education. This means that I teach at a school for future teachers. All of my students are about the same age as me or even a bit older. They are all very interested in travel, American culture, holidays and pop music.
When I am not teaching, I love to draw, explore Lang Son and to cook tasty vegetarian meals.
