One of the joys of language learning is when watching a movie in the language you are learning, and then you pick out just one or two words you know. Though it is difficult to measure progress when learning a language, it is really easy to tell how far you have come when speaking to a native speaker. When you can have a full conversation, you are well on your way to fluency.
