Farewell!

My time abroad has made me more aware and empathetic to struggles like those in Georgia, but AP World was truly the beginning of my shift in perspective. I remember sitting in Ms. Merrell’s class, learning about the histories of so many nations and groups of people. AP World opened my eyes to places beyond the United States. Later, while in college in Texas, I worked with immigrants and refugees teaching them English, and that path eventually led me here. I encourage all of you to see the world and meet people different from yourselves. The world is vast and complex, and while AP World is extensive and thorough, traveling and meeting new people bring what you are learning to life in powerful ways.

To end, I want to thank Ms. Merrell for allowing me to work with you all. She remains one of my favorite teachers of all time. Whether it was writing college recommendations, sponsoring Model UN or simply being an incredible educator, Ms. Merrell has always supported me, and I am forever grateful for her. I also want to thank Reach the World for giving me the opportunity to connect with you. Finally, thank you all for letting me be a small part of your learning journey this semester. I wish you the best of luck on your finals and in all that the future holds!

Sana iyi şanslar!
