The tables are indoors, and you would think that with every table barbecuing, the restaurant would be extremely smoky, but it's not. Each table has an air vent that hangs from the ceiling right above the stove that sucks all the smoke away! Another difference between a Shanghai barbeque and an American barbeque is that the cuts of meat are different. In Shanghai, you get some interesting varieties like beef tongue and chicken gizzards. A popular way to eat the barbecued food is to wrap the meat in a piece of lettuce like you would a taco, since the cuts of meat are fairly small.
I listened to a lot of Chinese pop songs, along with my own playlist of American pop music. Some Chinese pop songs that I recommend are 月亮代表我的心 (yue liang dai biao wo de xin), which translates to The Moon Represents My Heart and 多情的月光 (duo qing de yue guang), or Amorous Moonlight.
The activity that was the most fun for me this week was exploring more than one city in the same week. I was able to explore Nanjing during the week and Shanghai on the weekend!
