Although my cooking is not the greatest, the best meal this week was made by yours truly. I have been cooking more recently and the best meal I made was fried rice. I threw in the ingredients I had at the moment, which included mushrooms, garlic, onions, ham and eggs and it came out better than I expected!
I managed to break my earphones this week, so didn't get to listen to much music. The only music I heard was from walking past stores. The songs were usually some type of American EDM or old pop music.
The most fun activity I participated in this week was hiking. I used to go at least once a week back in Hawaii, so I was dying to find a nice hiking trail here.
I am still reading the book "Algorithms to Live By," along with all the other required articles for my Chinese Government and Society class. We are currently focusing on the topic of China's economy and future development in the next 40 years.
Aside from biking around campus, I played a few rounds of badminton with some local students on the outdoor field.
This past weekend was the Chinese holiday Qing Ming Jie which translates to Tomb-Sweeping Day. Students got Friday off for the holiday. It is not a day with big celebrations, though. It is more about taking care to remember ones ancestors and loved ones.
