Our News

What did I read this week?:

This week, I read some legends about Puebla. For example, the dulce típico (traditional sweet) from Puebla is rumored to have been invented when a kid wanted to annoy some nuns by making an impossible-to-clean mixture of sugar and sweet potato. He is now credited with inventing the dulce de camote (sweet potato candy). In another legend, I read that the neighborhood where I live is haunted! Hopefully nothing spooky happens.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

Some other expats and I are starting a volleyball club! Expats is short for expatriate. It is a term used for people who are the living abroad in another country. I'm really terrible at sports, but it is always fun to spend time with friends.

Other news from this week:

There was a huge explosion on January 18th just north of Mexico City. A gas pipe exploded as people tried to siphon off gas from it, killing 79 people and injuring 66 more. Hopefully someone can figure out how to end the gas shortage here in Mexico before any more lives are lost.
