Since Zvolen has two large rivers, an adaptation people made to prevent floods was building a canal. The canal is a manmade river that connects the Hron and Slatina Rivers and is a place for water to go if the rivers get too full. Other examples of adaptations for these rivers include bridges that allow cars and people to easily cross them and the wide riverbanks (sides of the rivers) people have dug to make sure that they won’t overflow.
