My host mom and 18-year-old host sister speak English well, but my host dad only speaks Slovak. It is great living with a host family because I do not have to navigate a new city and country on my own. They are able to help me figure out bus schedules, cultural differences, and daily life. Additionally, I get to more easily see Slovak daily life and culture because I am living it.
