However, I am looking forward to starting the actual project once the paperwork is approved.
Beyond my research project and documentation, I helped organize and host a conference for an organization, the Polonium Foundation, which I have been volunteering with since last year. The goal of the conference, “To Poland for Science,” was to promote mental well-being within the Polish and international scientific communities. The event was held at the Staszic Palace and the seminars ranged in topics from nurturing the brain-gut relationship using psychobiotic interventions to improve cognitive function to supporting mental health and belonging in academia. My role included hosting the Intro to Psychosomatics seminar, writing an English event agenda, recruiting speakers and creating a comprehensive resource guide for individuals traveling from abroad.
From drafting my ethics application to helping organize a scientific conference, the root of research is to deepen knowledge as well as sharing the findings with your community!
