Our News

While songs in Danish can reach a majority of Danish people and become popular in the country, English lyrics can allow the artists to reach a global audience. Which way the artist goes is up to them and how they want to approach music. Some popular Danish artists include APHACA, Mille, OLIVVER and Lukas Graham.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

I attended Diwali, the Indian festival of lights, at Reffen, the food street market on the water in Copenhagen. It was an all-day festival, but I only went for the later portion with a dance performance and open dance floor. It was so fun getting to dance to good music with friends to celebrate this holiday! There’s always fun events throughout the city on weekend nights, it just takes some looking to find which you want to do.

What did I read this week?:

Most of the reading I do is for class! This can range from research papers for my European clinical psychology class to long stories for my travel writing class. I also read and review Danish vocabulary for my Danish language and culture class.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

One of my groups of friends likes to get together every few weeks to eat snacks and watch a movie. This time around, we also played Uno No Mercy, a much more intense version of the classic game.

Other news from this week:

For my European art history class, we tend to explore different museums or monuments during class to bring our material to life. We went to the Hirschsprung Collection to learn more about a group of Danish painters that dedicated their work to Skagen, a fishermen town on the northernmost point of Denmark.
