Our News

What activity was the most fun this week?:

Playing cops and robbers with a million kids! Just kidding! There were about 20 to 40 kids in a village near Pahanhog Falls. My friend Jake and I accidentally became real life robbers when we took their wallet for the game, so we decided to return it with a backpack full of new toys like thieves in the night!

What did I read this week?:

Filipino newspapers which was really interesting because I saw that many articles talked about this or that agency catching a company doing something it wasn't suppose to such as secretly dumping contaminated water into the ocean. I thought it was great that these issues were being publicized and action was being taken.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I tried cliff diving! I didn't think this was a sport until I looked it up. There is even a Cliff Diving World Championship where competitors dive 85 feet (26 meters), the equivalent of an eight-story building which is similar to the heights Olympic high divers dive from. According to a local, I only jumped 40 feet (12 meters). Still, I was pretty impressed with myself!

Other news from this week:

I happened to have come to the Philippines during "Holy Week" which is a very important time for Filipinos because almost everybody has time off from work for the whole week in order to celebrate the season leading up to Easter. When I was reading a Filipino newspaper, there was an article which discussed how cops and firefighters could not have time off this week because their jobs are essential. The writer made the point that someone needs to be ready to protect society!
