It is not common for restaurants in Spain to serve water when you sit down, it must be ordered. If you ask for water in a restaurant, you will be brought water in a fancy glass bottle that usually costs between two to eight euros depending on the size. This gets expensive when you are dining with a large group of people! It is important when ordering water to specify agua de grifo (tap water), so that you do not get charged extra!
The best meal I had this week was tapas (small plates). This weekend a few friends and I went to a small town just outside of Logroño named Laguardia. For lunch we shared a series of small plates including croquetas, jamón ibérico, patatas bravas and many more! All were delicious, and it was so nice to have a little taste of everything!
This week I listened to a mix of my favorite English and Spanish songs! My favorite Spanish songs I’ve been listening to are "Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido" by KAROL G and "Superestrella" by Aitana.
The most fun activity I participated in this week was walking a portion of the Camino with my students and coworkers! The Camino of Santiago is a historical hiking trail that stretches through Spain and neighboring countries. People walk the path as a religious journey to visit the resting place of Saint James.
